Walking Labyrinth

A Path to Relaxation, Healing, & Contemplation

What is a Labyrinth?

A labyrinth is a single circuitous path that winds its way into the center which is a spot to quietly contemplate and leave an offering. There are no tricks to it, no dead ends, it is not a maze. There is no right way or wrong way to walk a labyrinth. You may go directly to the center to sit quietly or you may walk slowly– whatever meets your needs and allows you to find the inner peace and quiet you are seeking.

Preparation for the Walk

The walking labyrinth experience generally starts with a guided meditation, breathing practice, or sitting quietly to reflect on the journey ahead. Some people come to the labyrinth with questions to contemplate, others just to slow down and take time out from a busy life. Some come during times of grief and loss to honor the emotions that are arising or to find peace. If you want guidance on your contemplative journey an oracle card reading can be done to provide you with themes to explore as your walk.

Three Stages of the Walk

  1. Start your walking experience by selecting a pair of gemstones to hold in your palms as you walk or you may want to select an offerings to leave in the center of the labyrinth.
  2. Enter the labyrinth and begin walking, spiritually releasing want you no longer need on the way in, receiving what you need from the universe in the center and allowing the change to take to hold on the way of the labyrinth. The labyrinth path can be walked multiple times to support your contemplative journey.
  3. End your experience with a chance to share the emotions, feelings, thoughts that arose during your journey or you may sit quietly in a peaceful environment.
