The Journey
Mara is a woman on a journey of self-discovery. She bravely decided that spending dawn to dusk in a beige cubicle was not how she wanted to experience life. She left her long-term job as an engineer, which paid well but was slowly killing her inside. A big step in the right direction, yet she knew that it was only one step in her journey. Her dreams and spirit guides were showing her a new life in the mountains of Taos, New Mexico. She gave away most of her belongings, packed what was left in her car, and drove to a place of new beginnings where she knew no one and was truly on her own.
Finding Home
Mara found herself exploring the beauty of northern New Mexico as she stayed in temporary rentals. She watched the winds blow and the snowfall in Questa. The starry sky and nearby stream made her sigh in contentment. Meditating near a star shaped garden with the birds and bunnies was relaxing but she knew that land wasn’t home. She moved to a large home closer to town and enjoyed spending the evenings in the sauna. The views of sunset took her breath away but it still wasn’t home. In her dreams of Taos, she was on top of a hill watching the ravens swoop by and it gave her a sense of freedom. After several months of being a nomad, her dream came true! She signed a lease to rent a well maintained southwestern adobe home sitting on a small hill. The ravens, magpies, and hawks swoop over her backyard just like she had dreamed. Mara is always looking out her windows because she loves her views of the pastures, clouds, city lights, and mountains.
Path Forward
Mara is not planning her life, she is living life to the fullest, and doing what she enjoys. Mara has been connecting to the local wildlife and birds, bunnies, squirrels, skunks, and raccoons are frequent visitors to her backyard. Mara spends time watching the clouds, summer thunder storms, and rainbows. Mara is continuing to do art, spending time in nature, and taking photos of the beauty around her. Mara is happily learning how to live outside normal reality as she finds herself, connects to nature, and connects to her higher self.
